This year at ISNA’s 52nd Annual Convention, which takes place on September 4-7, 2015 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL.
The conference theme this year is Stories of Resilience: Strengthening the American Muslim Narrative. Sabina’s panel is on the Transformative Power of Muslim Social Web.
This panel will discuss Muslims’ harnessing the power of the social web to affect dialogue and change. There is no doubt that the Internet and social media have been transformative agents for major conversations and controversies within the Muslim community over the past few years. With these tools at our fingertips, everyone has the power to give their voice a platform. From Muslim Twitter to blogging to digital storytelling, the speakers will explore the current digital cyberscape and best practices to use these tools to revolutionize discourse and propel our community forward.
Speakers include Eman Hassaballa Aly, Aman Ali, Amani Al-Khatahtbeh, and Sabina Khan-Ibarra. The panel will be moderated by Hadiya Abdelrahman.
