Asma Uddin, editor-in-chief of Altmuslimah.com, spoke at Georgetown University about U.S. foreign policy and women’s rights activism in Muslim-majority countries.
Asma Uddin addressed Professor Jean Elshtain’s class on Faith, Ethics & America’s Role in the World at Georgetown’s Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs. She discussed the question of whether the U.S. should be promoting a specific brand of feminism in the Muslim world, and the broader question of devising a truly universal conception of women’s rights.
