Derek Brown is one of Altmuslimah’s first featured photographers. Check back soon to see some of his awesome photography from the Muslim world. In the meanwhile, Derek will be exhibiting at Gallery H this Thursday.
Derek Brown, a New York-based travel photographer whose work from over thirty countries has been published in newspapers, magazines, textbooks and guidebooks all over the world, is one of Altmuslimah’s soon-to-be-featured photographers, helping Altmuslimah break down stereotypes one picture at a time. He has already helped Altmuslimah by generously donating 3 of his pieces to The Painted Gala.
Derek uses his photographs to not only show some of his favorite images from his trips but also share some of the things he learned during his journeys. He says, “I don’t purport to bring you the ‘real’ Muslim world, but I believe that my observations, even if not new to you, might be illuminating simply for what they are, things that jump out to the traveler in these regions.”
Check out some of Derek’s previous exhibits at his website, and his upcoming exhibit at Gallery H:
